IL Doll Packaging Details

IL Doll Secure Packaging

Standard packaging on almost any doll consists of a heavy double walled box and a variety of foam inserts directly made to fit the specific doll so they don't move around during shipment. IL Doll takes this concept to an extended level and utilizes Spray Foam in order to lock in their dolls as securely as possible. The benefits to this is that almost no IL Dolls arrive with damages or shipping scuffs but on the downside their dolls are incredibly difficult to remove from their boxes. Because the spray foam is so dense and covers some integral parts of the doll our warehouse team needs to be extra careful when attempting to remove the doll from their packaging. These are photos from the most recent attempt at the removal of an IL Doll for Quality Control purposes.

The typical time for removal of an IL doll from our warehouse team exceeds what is standard for any other doll and as such moving forward to keep orders moving at a timely pace our warehouse team will do a quality check on the visible portions of the doll and then ship out the doll without removing them from the spray foam.

Removing the Doll from their box at home

Because we'll no longer be removing IL Dolls from their boxes in our warehouse this process will need to be done once the doll is received. The best way to remove an IL Doll is first and foremost with patience. There are delicate parts of the doll that are covered by the spray foam and should be identified before an attempt at removal is made. Once you have an idea of where the dolls parts are you can begin to cut away at the foam. Using a serrated knife and sawing pieces off has worked best for us in the past. Essentially just carve away chunks at a time, starting at the edges and working in until the foam can be taken out completely.
